Music

We are very proud of our music ministry at First Presbyterian of San Rafael:

The Chancel Choir, is an adult choir that reaches out to our congregation with a wide array of sacred music, including traditional classics from Handel, Mozart, Bach, and Beethoven, as well as meaningful compositions from many modern composers. The Choir is under the direction of George Wallace.

Mr. Bernie Lussier has served the congregation as Church Organist since 1978. A skilled musician he plays on our Moller pipe organ (installed in 1963), our Tower Chimes and piano.

Our Bell Choir, "Sounds A' Pealing" regularly presents inspiring and exciting music that lifts and enhances our worship experience. In 2004, the Bell Choir was invited to play during the Marin Symphony Celebration of Lights. The ensemble has been asked back to perform at the Celebration during the 2006 event. This 14 member group is under the direction of Brenda Atchison.

Are you interested in opportunities to ring bells? Call or Email Brenda Atchison, Director, for information (415-492-1866).

At our 8:30 a.m. Sunday service, cantor Deborah Arca Mooney and, pianist/composer John Steiner, help create an intimate, meditative tone for this unique Eucharist worship experience.
