Family Ministries

A lived-out faith strengthens and supports children as they face choices and challenges in our world, and families as they are pulled in many directions with myriad responsibilities. At FPCSR, we support the faith development of families through community, education and good conversation. We welcome you to this open, intergenerational community, where we seek to demonstrate God's unconditional love to children and their caregivers.
While parents and grandparents attend our 10:00 am service, children enjoy programming that supports their spiritual formation.
  • Nursery Care: For babies and children under 4 years, we have a nursery program with credentialed, and experienced staff. Even the youngest children enjoy storytelling.
  • Sacred Storytelling: School age children of all ages hear classic stories from the Godly Play curriculum, learn some songs and respond with art. Our theology is open-minded and inclusive, allowing the children to “wonder” about the meaning of these stories.
  • Community Service: Children have fun cooking and give back to others through making meals for shelters and dining rooms that serve disadvantaged people.
  • Family Events: Fun and meaningful intergenerational events are offered periodically, such as community service, festivals, game nights and fun outings. For example, we participated in an Marin Interfaith Council’s gathering at the Green Gulch Farm Zen Community where we harvested vegetables for Marin’s hungry.
If you are planning to visit us for the first time, please arrive 10 minutes early and speak with the greeter at the church entrance - he or she will help you find the nursery and classroom. You may want to bring a familiar toy or blanket to comfort your small child.

If you have any questions in advance of your visit, please contact Rev. Jan Reynolds, Associate Pastor, or call the church office at 415.456.6760 and ask to speak with Jan.

Please see the Calendar of Events and click on Sunday School on any Sunday for details on activities planned for that specific date.
