Men's Book Group

The Men's Book Group is an informal gathering of men who meet at 8:30 am on the second and fourth Thursday from September through May to discuss books that raise interesting and relevant social, ethical or religious issues or questions.

Titles have ranged from Jesus for the Non-Religious by John Shelby Spong and The Heart of Christianity by Marcus Borg to The Future of Freedom by Fareed Zakaria and Saving the Corporate Soul by David Batstone.

Books are chosen by consensus and may be discussed for a few weeks or a few months. The discussions are always lively and encompass a wide variety of views. The meetings are open to all men and all are welcome.

All men are encouraged to join us for coffee, fellowship and discussion.

Women's Book Group

On March 20, Jan Reynolds will lead a discussion of Henri Nouwen’s book, Life of the Beloved: Spiritual Living in a Secular World. On April 24, Jane Martin will lead a discussion on The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery.

In May, the group will host a luncheon for women in the church. A tentative date to put on your calendar is Thursday, May 16 (to be confirmed). It will be a
potluck lunch. All women are invited and former PW members are our guests!

If interested, please contact Jan at: 456-6760 x13.
