8:30 Contemplative Worship
At 8:30, about 25-30 people attend a more intimate and quiet service in a Contemplative Frame, in our Chapel Lounge. Featuring acclaimed pianist, John Steiner, and Cantor Sarah Wolf, we sing meditative verses and contemporary songs. Various other musicians will join us from time to time.
Rev. Sam Alexander preaches, we spend some time in silence reflecting on the message, and then Sam encourages conversation about the sermon. This service offers Communion each week. To give you an idea of our inclusive theology, here are the opening words of our Communion ritual:
We see this table as one expression of the universal feast we long to share with all people. Christ invites all people to come from east and west and north and south to share in this banquet of communal thanksgiving. We break this bread with those who journey the way of the Hindus, with those who follow the path of the Buddha, with our brothers and sisters of Islam, with the Jewish people from whom we come, and with all people of faith.
We warmly embrace visitors and hope you will join us.
